Meet Lotte Tyers, Financial Planning Administrator

At the start of 2025, we were delighted to welcome a new addition to the HWIFM team. If you’ve recently contacted or visited the office you may have already spoken to our Financial Planning Administrator, Lotte Tyers. The eagle-eyed amongst you may also have spotted her on our social media feeds. Read on to learn about Lotte’s background, her role and responsibilities at HWIFM, her plans for the future, and the life achievement she’s most proud of. Welcome to the team, Lotte!

What does our Financial Planning Administrator do?

Lotte is part of our Administrative Support team. As a Financial Planning Administrator she supports all our Independent Financial Advisers (IFAs) by preparing and processing business on behalf of clients. This includes setting up pensions, ISAs, Venture Capital Trusts and protection policies. If you make a withdrawal from, or a contribution to, one of your financial products, it’s very likely that Lotte will be the person processing the paperwork to make this happen.   

Lotte processes client suitability reports, issues completion letters, and follows up with clients and the advisers to fill in missing information. If you phone the office, Lotte can also book appointments with our advisers, and when you arrive for your appointment she might well be the one to greet you.

An administrator with big ambitions

Lotte joined us from a small IFA firm where she worked as a Paraplanner. She holds a CII Level 3 Certificate in Financial Services and is currently working towards her Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning, with ambitions to qualify as an IFA in the future.

Let’s hear from Lotte about her time at HWIFM so far and her hobbies and achievements…

What are your first impressions of working at HWIFM?

It’s a very knowledgeable and organised team focused on providing down-to-earth, professional, independent financial advice. The advisers are all very different in their personalities and specialisms, meaning there’s someone suited to every client. I feel very fortunate to work with such a lovely group of people in the most beautiful rural setting and I love coming to work.

What do you like to do in your spare time? 

I love to spend my days off with my husband and young children, visiting play areas and meeting with friends. We often explore the countryside with our dog, Buzz. I enjoy running, gardening and crafting.

On the subject of running, tell us about your proudest achievement!

In 2022, I ran the London Marathon in memory of my childhood best friend and raised money for Thrombosis UK.

If you weren’t working at HWIFM, what would your dream job be?

I love crafting (making pom pom wreaths, felt garlands and air clay modelling), so if I wasn’t working in financial services my ambition would be to own a small craft shop. That would be my kind of heaven!

What advice would you give to your younger self?

Life is short, don’t sweat about the small stuff.
