Over the next few months, we will be introducing you to all members of the HW team.
Today is the turn of the fabulous Rachael Hough who has worked within the business for 13 years. Rachael is Gary Makin’s PA and has worked with him throughout his progression from Trainee – Manager – Associate – to Partner!
What do enjoy most about your role at HWIFM?
The variety of people I work with and have worked alongside throughout the years.
I like the variation of my role, one day I am typing up meeting notes, the next I am paying invoices or liaising with clients/providers or something completely different. I have the opportunity to make a big difference and assist a lot of people.
Who lives at home with you?
I live with my hubby, Matthew (we’ve been together for 31 years, married for 18 years) Jacob my son who is a typical 14-year-old teenager and my 4-legged baby, Ralphie (French bulldog who is 4.5yrs).
Hobbies – what do you enjoy doing out of work?
Netball (when we can play!), skiing, catching up with friends, dog walking, jogging, watching crime dramas/films.
Favourite food and drink.
Food has defo got to be chocolate! Drink – sounds daft but orange cordial …. and coffee!!
Your go to holiday destination after lockdown!
Defo booking a ski holiday when safe to do so, we always go to Banff in Canada with friends and maybe look at spending 2 weeks laying on a beach in the summer, somewhere hot like Mexico.
One piece of advice you would give to your younger self.
Don’t over-think everything!
What lessons have you learned during the last 12 months?
I do not have the patience to become a high school teacher!
What are you looking forward to most after lockdown ends?
Kids going back to school for one! Hugging and spending time with family and friends. Going for a meal with them, shopping, going the cinema, just basically socialising! Roll on 21st June.
What are your dream goals to achieve by the end of 2021?
To travel more than I have the past couple of years, city breaks, weekends away and holidays abroad.
